A German saying states “the devil catches most souls in a golden net” and when it comes to temptation, this is so true. Overcoming and staying away from temptation is tough. It’s golden net takes on many forms and waits to nab us with every step. How Christians stay away from, and overcome, the “golden net” of temptation is what we’re going to explore today.
Stress in America is almost as prevalent as coffee shops in the Pacific Northwest. 77% of Americans indicate suffering from regular stress and 1 in 3 live with extreme stress. This shouldn’t be. Ready to know the why, what, and how of “setting your mind on things above”?

Failing to plan doesn’t just affect our relationship with God though; it also affects our relationship with others and who or what they see reflected in our lives. It’s these out of control times in our lives where the fruits of the Spirit all seem to die (hyperlink to scripture) and the weeds of the flesh all seem to take over just like purslane in a PNW garden.
There’s hope though. There’s always hope!
